Hybrid Transmission Service in Sacramento, CA
Hybrid transmissions (eCVTs) are mechanically simple and very reliable — right up until the fluid that protects their motor windings and bearings breaks down. Fluid service is the whole game.

Warning Signs of Transmission Trouble
- Shudder or vibration under acceleration
- A whine that rises with speed — often MG bearing wear
- Delayed or clunky engagement from a stop
- Fluid that’s dark or burnt-smelling (it should be pink-red and clean)
Why It Happens
The eCVT’s fluid cools and insulates the electric motors inside the transaxle. As it ages it loses both abilities — and because there’s no “service required” light for it, most cars are years overdue. By the time you hear a bearing, the cheap fix has passed.
What We Do
Fluid exchange with the correct hybrid-specific fluid (this matters — wrong fluid damages motor insulation), inspection for leaks and bearing noise, and honest assessment if wear has already started. Firm quote before any work.
Our Process
- Fluid condition check and road test
- Exchange with manufacturer-spec hybrid transaxle fluid
- Post-service test drive; bearing and leak inspection included
Transmission symptoms can mimic other hybrid faults, so we usually start with a full hybrid diagnostic. Pairing this service with routine hybrid engine maintenance keeps the whole drivetrain honest.
Our Warranty
