Chevy Volt & Bolt Battery Repair in Sacramento

GM stopped building the Volt in 2019 and the Bolt in 2023 — but tens of thousands of them are still on the road, and the owners tell the same story: shrinking dealer support, long waits, and quotes that assume you’ll just buy a new car. You don’t have to. We work on both.

EV battery pack diagnostics and repair at AT Automotive Sacramento

Two Different Cars, Two Different Problems

Volt (2011–2019): a plug-in hybrid with a gas engine that ages like one. We see coolant system faults, BECM issues, and gradual pack capacity loss that shows up as shrinking electric range. Because the gas engine masks battery decline, most owners don’t notice until range has dropped hard.

Bolt (2017–2023): a full EV with a well-known battery recall history. If your Bolt already got its recall pack, it should be healthy — we can verify that with data. If you’re buying a used Bolt, a $99 battery health check before purchase can save you from a five-figure mistake.

What We Do

Battery repair and replacement quotes are per-vehicle — pack availability for GM EVs moves around — but you’ll get a firm number before any work starts, and every job carries our 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty.

An Independent Shop That Actually Knows EVs

We’re not a general shop that “also takes EVs.” High-voltage diagnostics is what AT Automotive was built on — Teslas, Toyota and Honda hybrids, and GM’s EVs. If it has a battery pack, we can tell you what’s wrong with it.
